Get ready for four weeks of Revive I-5 construction! Starting July 18 through August 18, WSDOT will close and reduce lanes along I-5 north to begin vital safety repairs along the Ship Canal Bridge. This summer is the beginning of a multi-year preservation project.

What’s happening with Revive I-5?

🚧WSDOT starts work on the Revive I-5 preservation project this summer to bring vital safety repairs to the Ship Canal Bridge. 

July 18 – July 21 crews will fully close northbound I-5 from I-90 to NE 45th Street to set up the work zone. 

📆 July 21 – August 15 northbound I-5 across the Ship Canal Bridge is reduced to two lanes, 24/7, for four weeks.  

🚗 Express Lanes will stay open northbound 24/7 during construction. Express lanes will not operate southbound into downtown Seattle. 

August 15 – 18 crews will again fully close northbound I-5 from I-90 to NE 45th Street to remove the work zone. 

🚧 Work will shift to southbound I-5 lanes later this fall. Revive I-5 construction will continue through 2027.
