What is your job title? 

Sr. Property Manager (and ETC)

How long have you been an ETC or BTC? 

10 years

What does a typical workday look like for you?

Approving invoices, conducting preventative maintenance tasks on building. respond to building tenant service tickets.

What’s one success or positive experience you’ve had in your role as ETC or BTC? What made it successful?

Got leadership to approve budgeting for TransitScreen for building lobby.

What’s one challenge you’ve faced in your role as an ETC or BTC? What strategies did you use to face that challenge?

Budget approval for amenities that would benefit our building transit program is a challenge. To get approval for our TransitScreen, I listed the benefits: improved tenant/employee experience, tenant/employee retention, provide transit info to tenants/employees/building visitors.

What’s one thing you’ve learned as an ETC/BTC?

You can’t please everyone all the time.

What advice would you give to a brand new ETC/BTC?

Get buy-in from leadership early and reach out to Commute Seattle for help in setting up your program.

Is there anything else you want to share?

Be patient and listen to the needs of your tenants/employees.
