Sound Transit’s Sounder Commuter Rail carries riders from Everett, Mukilteo, and Edmonds to downtown Seattle Monday through Friday. Sound Transit opened the Link Light Rail line from downtown Seattle to Sea-Tac Airport on July 18, 2009. This line also serves Seattle’s SODO industrial area, as well as the Beacon Hill and Rainier Valley neighborhoods. Amenities on light rail include worktables with computer plug-ins, fully accessible restrooms in each car, and cup holders. Check out Sound Transit Rail timetables and various stations. It’s a quick and reliable way to get downtown.
The future of Sound Transit is coming! The light rail line to the University of Washington is under construction and scheduled to open in 2016. In 2008, voters approved 36 miles of north, east and south extensions scheduled to open between 2020 and 2023.
Metro Vanshare is a great way to bridge the short distance between the train station and your office. Check out Metro Vanshare for more information.
The monorail offers daily runs back and forth between the Seattle Center and the downtown core. It’s not just for tourists. Really. The Seattle Center Monorail is a fast and convenient way to travel in downtown Seattle.
