Seattle is Puget Sound’s mecca for business, tourism and commerce. According to a 2007 US Government Community Census “half of the nation’s public transportation commuters can be found in 10 of the nation’s 50 cities with the most workers age 16 or over” – Seattle is on the list of those ten cities. Our outlying regional transit systems, which connect to Metro’s system, were specifically designed with our population and business growth in mind, and with Seattle as their primary destination. Sound Transit, Community Transit, Pierce Transit, Kitsap Transit and Everett Transit all connect to Metro’s downtown system to make your commute into the city easy, inexpensive, and better for our environment.
Conveniently located Park and Rides (P/R) offer ideal ways to get in and out of downtown quickly. There are P/R locations all over the Puget Sound area that connect to the transit system. The SeattleTunnel is an accessible way to quickly get around downtown Seattle. It’s also a part of the Ride Free Zone.
Check out the Metro system map to find out which buses service your neighborhood. Try out the Metro Trip Planner, Google Bus or Spot Bus where you can enter time and location information and get point-to-point bus information. If you are running late, find your bus and identify arrival/departure times using One Bus Away, Metro Bus Tracker or Busview.
