Business Access and Transit (BAT) lanes are currently being installed in the Elliott/15th Avenue W corridor, from 15th Avenue W and W Armour Street to Elliott Avenue W and W Harrison Street in both the northbound and southbound directions. Theses lanes will help move transit more efficiently and improve access to businesses and residences along the route by reserving the outside lanes for buses and right-turning vehicles.
Lane restrictions in the northbound direction are in operation from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m., matching existing parking restrictions along the east side of the street. In the southbound direction, restrictions will be in place from 7-9 a.m., matching existing parking restrictions on the west side of the street. Magnolia Bridge traffic will be able to enter the BAT lane a reasonable distance before the bridge turnoff.
SDOT will continue to analyze and adjust the timing of traffic signals as needed to maintain the flow of traffic in all lanes. As the paving project continues, BAT lane restrictions will become effective immediately as they are installed. The project is expected to be completed by late October or early November.
